The prEUgovor coalition has the honour to invite you to the conference - A Decade of PrEUgovor: Safeguarding the Rule of Law Reforms without Compromise, on 22 May 2023 at 15:00 at Saint Ten Hotel in Belgrade.
The conference will mark the tenth anniversary of prEUgovor - a coalition of civil society organisations that oversee the rule of law reforms in Serbia within the EU integration process. On the same occasion, the 20th prEUgovor Alarm, a regular semiannual shadow report of the Coalition, which monitors the state of reforms in selected areas of Cluster 1, will be presented. The report covers the period from November 2022 to May 2023.
How far has Serbia come in improving its standards and practices in key areas prEUgovor has been monitoring for a decade now? What are the main problems in slow progress in regard to the functioning of democratic institutions, protection of human rights, fight against corruption and police reform? Can the system adequately respond to an epidemic of violence, femicide and anti-gender rhetoric? What is to be expected from the drafting of a new anti-corruption strategy and a new law on internal affairs? How can both Serbia and the EU reinvigorate the accession process and boost its reform potential? These are some of the topics for discussion.
